To give all employees an overview of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
This course will:
- Create an awareness of the law
- Generate discussion as to how the law can be applied
- Create an understanding as to what the responsibilities are under the act
- Start the “due diligence” process with workers
Content:
- Review of your Company’s Health and Safety Policy
- Duties of the employer, supervisor and workers
- Review specific regulations applicable to the industry
- Worker responsibilities under the act
- Internal responsibility system
- Right of refusal
- Offences and penalties under the act
- Discussion of some actual cases that have gone before the courts
